Austkil FlyFishing belongs to Austkil guesthouse and is located midway along the famous Stjørdal River.
The beat on the offer are very accesible dirctly from Trondheim airport and only 20 mins drive.
Austkil gives you access to several of the river's best fly fishing stretches, and offers exclusive salmon fishing and accommodation for those who want to be alone with their fishing friends. Austkil has nearly two kilometers of river stretch with fishing from both sides. For large parts of the season we have little "fishing pressure" as many of our guests want to have our stretches more or less alone.

Our fishing stretches consist of Austkilskogen, Holmene and Sonoset, and our fishermen have access to around two kilometers of river every day, fishing from both sides. The nearest stretches are within walking distance. Watch the video from some of our stretches.

Austkil Flyfishing operates in close connection with the Austkil guesthouse. Situated in Hegra, Norway, specifically within the Stjørdal municipality - a mere 20-minute drive from both downtown Stjørdal and Trondheim Airport Værnes. Our dedicated fishermen are provided with excellent lodging options, enjoying exclusive access to the facilities in and around the charming old "masstu". At our establishment, participants can avail of comfortable single rooms, some equipped with private bathrooms. The masstua features multiple inviting living spaces and a modern kitchen, perfect for those who prefer self-catering.
ONE OF NORWAYS MOST FAMOUS RIVERS
The Stjørdal River (Stjørdalselva) is one of Norway's best salmon rivers, and has a history of sport fishing that began with the English aristocracy from the mid-19th century. Along with the high nobility, there were many friends of the English royal family who discovered the mighty Stjørdal River. The Duke and Duchess of Marlborough were among those who fished on the Austkil beat. Later, many passionate fly fishermen have had memorable experiences and moments by the river side.
